Day pass

If you use public transport infrequently and travel on different routes, you’ll find the right ticket here.
If you travel more frequently in the same zones, you can save up to 10% with a multiple day pass or multiple-journey ticket.
Local network: Valid within a given political municipality (except for the cities of Zurich and Winterthur).
Short distance ticket: Valid for short journeys in the cities of Zurich and Winterthur (including journeys beyond the city limits).
Areas of coverage are specified on automatic ticket machines.

Fare zones 10 (Zurich municipal Zone) and 20 (Winterthur) count double in calculating the fare.

Multiple day pass (6 freely selectable days of travel on one ticket)

If you use public transport only occasionally, you can save up to 10% by buying a multiple day pass or multiple-journey ticket rather than six individual passes or tickets.
You can order (German) your multiple day pass or multiple-journey ticket from the comfort of your own home.

Zone upgrade for a valid ticket

Are you planning to travel outside the area for which your ticket or travelcard is valid? If so, you can purchase the missing zones at automatic ticket machines. You can also buy zone upgrades in advance at the ticket counter (don’t forget to validate!).

Short-duration zone upgrade

If your ZVV ticket plus your zone upgrade cover 8 zones, you can roam freely within the entire ZVV network.
A 9 o’clock pass for the city/agglomeration of Zurich or a 9 o’clock pass for the city/agglomeration of Winterthur plus a zone upgrade for 4 zones entitles you to travel across the whole ZVV network.
Fare zones 10 (Zurich municipal Zone) and 20 (Winterthur) count double in calculating the fare.

If you only travel after 9 a.m., you should make the most of the cost-effective ZVV 9 O’Clock Pass. It is valid from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. until the end of the business day, as well as all day on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

Albis day pass: your ticket to the Uetliberg – Felsenegg – Albis region

• The Albis day pass is particularly good-value for those wishing to take daytrips and walking tours to the Albis-Felsenegg-Uetliberg region, as well as those wishing to explore the Sihl- and Reppischtal, the city of Zurich, or the lake for a short cruise.

• This ticket is valid for 24 hours in zones 10, 50, 51, 54 and 55.

• You pay for just 4 of these 6 zones. You can validate your Albis day pass from any location in the ZVV network. This gives you complete freedom to get into, as well as move within, the zones listed above.

Annual ZVV NetworkPass (annual travelcard)

This is an annual or monthly travelcard for anyone who uses public transport frequently. You can order (German Ticketshop) an annual or monthly ZVV NetworkPass from the comfort of your own home.

Buy one pass for a whole year’s travel, and save up to 30% in the process. In other words, you pay for only 8.8 months (9 months for local network and 1-2 zone passes), but get to use public transport for a whole twelve months.
